Nike took the muzzle on everything and all earlier in the year when they took one of their most ridiculous shoes, Air Monarch, launched it in a new version and made it one of the most modern and sought after models on the market this year – Nike M2K Tekno.
Nike M2K Tekno has several parallels to the Air Monarch, repeatedly named as the ultimate ‘dad sneaker’, and especially the sole provides associations to retro Nike design with its bastard shape. At the same time, M2K Tekno differs significantly from its predecessor with a completely updated design.
This is especially reflected on the upper part, which is made of mesh and leather and has been added to a number of modern details – TPU panels at the heels, 3M reflexes on the heel straps, and a mini Swoosh logo on the page to customize the model to a contemporary audience.
The result is a voluminous, yet elegant sneaker, both consistent with contemporary trends and shelf classical Nike design. It is perfect for those who want to jump on the ‘chunky’ wave, but in a clean and timeless manner.
Nike has recently added its own contribution to the chunky sneaker obsession and the hits just keep on coming. Its reworked Monarch has ushered in two new colorways in Black/Black/Off White-Obsidian and White/White-Pure Platinum. Dubbed the Nike M2K Tekno, the redesigned sneaker carries out its new design following previous “Black Volt” and “Phantom” iterations.
